Sicilian Defense: Closed, Anti-Sveshnikov Variation
White keeps the d-pawn at home while Black advances the e-pawn. This differs from the open Sveshnikov: study the closed center here instead of copying plans from a line with central exchanges.

Develop quickly and decide whether to open the center with d4 or choose a specific anti-Sicilian structure.
The opponent’s plan
The c-pawn challenges d4 from the flank. In open lines, use the semi-open c-file and prepare central counterplay.
Watch out: A kingside pawn storm needs a concrete calculation of threats. Black's queenside activity can arrive first.
