Hosted preview data notice
This private preview runs on Microsoft Azure in the United States. The website, saved data and private backups are hosted there. Public registration remains closed while the launch checks are completed.
What the application stores
Your ChessSum login, preferences, connected usernames and selected features such as messages, reports and learning progress are stored to provide the service. Public chess profiles and games are imported from Chess.com and Lichess into a shared catalog.
Your choices
My workspace → Settings provides data export and account deletion. Deleting your ChessSum login removes its private profile and saved account links. Public source profiles and games can remain in the shared catalog; deleting ChessSum does not delete a source-platform account. Administrative records can retain an action with the deleted actor detached.
Browser storage
Sign-in uses cookies. Theme, sound and player preferences can be remembered in browser storage. Clearing browser data can reset those preferences.
Analysis and outside websites
Games selected for analysis are processed by Stockfish on our server. Generative AI explanations are not enabled in this hosted preview. Microsoft Azure Speech processes narration text for spoken videos, and Azure Communication Services delivers account emails. External organizer websites and chess platforms have their own policies.
